If you are in the process of planning your honeymoon, there are many places in Hawaii that you will want to consider. About 268,000 people make Hawaii their honeymoon destination. While you may want to consider any of the islands, most people end up choosing Oahu, Kauai, or Maui to celebrate their nuptials

Oahu Honeymoons

If you are looking for a honeymoon with an urban vibe, then an Oahu honeymoon may be perfect for you as it is the most populated of the Hawaiian Islands. It also usually has the cheapest flights, and it has the best public transportation.  It’s the one island you won’t need to rent a car.  Many of the restaurants and pubs near Waikiki Beach offer dances with live music and top DJs almost every night. There are plenty of white sandy beaches to play on, and there is a jungle path near a waterfall just waiting for you to explore it. From horseback riding through the water to a sunset sailing cruise, there is plenty to keep romance in the air.

Pro tip:  take a few surfing lessons for fun!

Kauai Honeymoons

If you enjoy rugged nature, then Kauai may be the perfect place for your honeymoon. You can find fantastic hiking opportunities here where you may feel completely isolated from the world. If you would prefer to ride, consider an off-road ATV adventure. You will find plenty of opportunities to go snorkeling among schools of colorful fish. Soar over undeveloped mountain valleys on a zipline or explore this lush green island from a helicopter. There are also many beautiful gardens to explore, like the Na ‘Aina Kai Botanical Garden, which may make great places for honeymoon-couple shots. Kauai.

Pro Tip:  The island is relatively small.  It will only take a few hours to drive it fully.  And, you’ll want to drive it fully as it’s so gorgeous!  Rent snorkel gear for the week to keep in your trunk.  As you drive, stop at road side pineapple stands.  You’ll find many unoccupied spots to stop and enjoy a private snorkel.  This is the perfect option for active couples who want some alone time.

Maui Honeymoons

Maui continues to draw many honeymoon couples. Drive along the Road to Hana for unbelievable views of Hawaii. Stroll arm-in-arm around the Garden of Eve Arboretum. The black volcanic beaches of Waianapanapa State Park are a great place to spend the day relaxing after all the wedding stress. Learn to make leis and play the ukulele while visiting the Montage Kapalua Bay.

Pro Tip:  Check apps like Yelp for restaurant ideas to find out where the locals eat cheaply.
