Vacations With Flair

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana Review

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is a 5 star, all inclusive resort on a pristine coastline in Punta Cana.

I had a chance to stay at the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana Resort recently.  This is a 5-star, all-inclusive resort situated on a pristine coastline in Punta Cana.  Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is family friendly but there is an adult only sister resort next door – Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana. Adults can access both sides seamlessly. Hyatt Ziva is not a well established brand in the all inclusive market.  Their resorts are not cookie cutters.  Each has its’ own unique personality but they all share the same excellent service and food. The newest addition to this chain did not disappoint. It offers every amenity imaginable – including a water park, an enormous workout center, 12 restaurants and swim up bars – stretched over 40+ acres of gorgeous beachfront.

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana Beach

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is located inside an exclusive gated community on the beautiful shores of Juanillo Beach. The sand here is powdery white touching crystal clear water. Plenty of chairs here.  Drink service is technically possible at the beach, but we didn’t see any servers working the beach.  Instead, we headed to the pool bar, which is very close.

One unique thing about this beach – it’s quiet.  The resort has such a large stretch of beach that chairs are set out quite a distance from each other.  We did not see any vendors on the beach.

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana Food

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is a TOTAL foodie experience! There are 11 specialty restaurants between the two sides, plus 2 buffets. Each one with its own over-the-top theme. Reservations are not required. In fact, we walked around and sampled dishes from three different restaurants one evening. (All in the name of research, of course). Each one was amazing- not at all your typical all-inclusive food.  El Mercado restaurant looks like a Caribbean Market and has food stations.  The Noodle and Thread italian restaurant is reminiscent of an old-school tailor’s shop with sewing machines and vintage clothing. The Indian restaurant next door is set in a romantic version of an India railroad traincar. Tip:  Love cocktails? Try the Bombay Way at tourneys restaurant. It’s a concoction of gin, lime, mint and a pinch of curry.

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana Rooms

All rooms come with a couch, room service and minibar fridge.  Rooms with 2 double beds can sleep up to 5 total when using the sofabed.  My room featured a private balcony with an ocean view. The bed is wonderfully comfy with a white duvet cover and feather pillows. In the spacious bathroom you’ll find lots of shelves for storage, a walk-in rainfall shower and double sinks.  The mirror/counter space is really wide.  Wedding parties could get easily ready in one of these bathrooms.  There is alot of space.

All of the One Bedroom Master Suites have access to Club amenities.

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana Activities

There is SO much to do at the resort, and we tried it all! The water park keeps both adults and kids busy with tall slides, water cannons, a lazy river and grotto waterfall. On the other side of the resort are multiple pools. Since each oceanfront pool has its own swim up bar, I made sure to check them out for you all. Excellent, by the way!

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana activities don’t stop away from the water.  The resort offers sand volleyball, pool tables, dance lessons, cooking lessons, evening entertainment and kids club. Wanting to get in a workout?  Stop by the impressive 1400 sq.ft. fitness center, featuring two cardio areas, Zumba, TRX training, Pilates, spinning, free weights and yoga.

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana Weddings

Each of the ceremony sites are beautiful.  Weddings can be held on the beach, in a gazebo or the rooftop sky-deck. The Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana resort wedding coordinators are on hand to help make any dreams a reality.  Wedding packages include quite bit – a cocktail, reception and more.    Click here for wedding packages
