Vacations With Flair

Must-Do Activities During Your Honeymoon to Mexico

Mexico is the ideal destination for an exotic venture. With 5.8 million international tourists to the country in the first quarter of this year alone, many people are heading that direction for rest and relaxation.

With its beautiful beaches, ancient history sites, and lively metropolitan areas, it’s got everything that you’ll want for a lively but relaxing honeymoon. Plus, with the current exchange rate your dollar will stretch much farther, allowing for upgrades you maybe wouldn’t consider otherwise!

Relaxation

Who doesn’t need a little rest and relaxation after all those months of wedding planning? You might think the only way to relax is on the beach, but think again: Mexico offers many non-waterfront options for escaping the tension.

Try planning a tour of Mexico City with its many museums, restaurants, and cultural centers. Puebla, the capital of the Puebla region, is also a highly rated city to visit for cultural and culinary escapades.

Water Activities

With almost 5800 miles of coastline, it’s hard not to think of the beach when you’re considering a destination honeymoon in Mexico. Mexico offers some of the world’s most beautiful and popular beaches in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Cabo San Lucas.

And don’t forget the lesser known destinations, which may be lower profile but still just as beautiful. Sayulita was recently named one of the world’s best beaches and is just one of many beautiful options available to visit in Mexico. From surfing and sunbathing to snorkeling and coral reefs, Mexico’s beaches offer everything you could want for a waterfront vacation.

Sightseeing

Mexico also harbors several very cool ancient ruin sites leftover from the Maya people of Mesoamerica. There is the famous Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage site and considered to be the Mayan capital city of the surrounding region. The Mayan ruins of Palenque are also incredibly picturesque, buried in dense jungle in the state of Chiapas.

And if you’re only interested in staying on the beach, don’t worry – the Tulum ruins on Mexico’s Caribbean coast still allow for fantastic ocean views plus they’re closer to the popular beaches of Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, and Cancun.

Whether you’re into cultural tours, ancient ruin sites, or just want to hit the beach with your surfboard, Mexico offers a wide variety of landscapes, coastlines, and metro areas with plenty to do. There’s something for everyone, making it the perfect destination for a relaxing honeymoon.
