I was thrilled to stay at the gorgeous all-inclusive Azul Beach Resort in Negril, Jamaica. Even better, this Azul Beach Negril review comes from my firsthand experience. As part of the Karisma chain, which is based in Mexico, the resort holds special significance for us. We’ve worked closely with this brand for over 10 years, so it was important for me to personally visit their only Jamaican property. To top it off, I traveled with friends—making the trip exceptionally fun.
The resort is a 75-minute drive from the Montego Bay airport and sits right on the famous Seven Mile Beach. While Jamaica is known for its stunning coastlines, this one stands out as truly top-tier. Powdery soft sand, warm crystal-clear water, and breathtaking sunsets create the perfect backdrop for long walks, beachside lounging, or snapping postcard-worthy photos.
Here are some of the highlights from Karisma’s Azul Beach Resort in Negril…
Let’s face it—people are choosing Negril because of the amazing beach. Fortunately, this resort allows you to be beachfront for your entire trip. The sand is insanely soft, and you can walk for miles in either direction.
What truly sets the Azul Beach Resort in Negril apart from all the others is the attention to detail. For example, their sun loungers are heavy and topped with comfortable cushions. As a result, I could lie there for hours while the beach butler brought me drinks.
The Beach – A review of my experience
Azul Beach Resort in Negril offers a gourmet dining experience with no reservations required. Enjoy unlimited meals across multiple restaurants—it’s all included.
À la carte options feature Caribbean, Thai, Mediterranean, Italian, and more, with standout spots like Ackee, Hua Hin, and Di Romagna. The open-air Palms Restaurant serves all-day meals, with a quiet atmosphere thanks to a separate show kitchen.
For lighter fare, grab coffee or juice at Beans in the lobby, or stop by Oceans Gourmet Corner near the pool for snacks and lunch.
In the evenings, the dress code is resort casual. Men should bring collared shirts and dress shorts or pants; women should avoid flip flops, beachwear, and sleeveless tops.
Not many resorts can say that their lowest category is an ocean view. However, that’s exactly what you get at Azul Beach Resort Negril.
From the moment you arrive, the experience begins with spacious rooms that include a very comfortable bed, in-room WiFi, a 42″ flatscreen TV, mini-bar, and plush robes. The overall vibe is clean and modern, with a crisp white bed accented by bold, colorful touches.
Stepping outside, my private patio felt like an outdoor living room, thanks to the roof overhead and the cozy circular canopy daybed. Even better, the ground floor swim-up rooms lead directly to the lazy river area—perfect for relaxing in style.
Moving into the bathroom, the space is impressively large with double vanities and rainfall showers. I had great lighting in the morning while getting ready, which, honestly, isn’t something I can say for every resort. Plus, the wide shelf under the sink was the perfect spot to tuck away toiletries and keep everything out of sight.
To start, the resort offers sand volleyball, ping pong tables, dance lessons, cooking lessons, evening entertainment, a kids club, and a full daily activities program. Additionally, complimentary water sports on property include kayaks, boogie boards, Hobie Cats, and canoes—perfect for guests who love staying active.
Meanwhile, for adults, the action unfolds at the 7 Mile Bar, centrally located on the property. Later in the evening, the Nesta Rasta Lounge keeps the vibe going with drinks served into the early morning hours. Quite often, there’s live music or entertainment here, so be sure to stop by and join the fun.
At Azul Beach Negril, the resort hosts up to two weddings per day, ensuring each celebration feels special. Couples can choose to tie the knot with their toes in the sand—after all, there’s no better beach for it! Alternatively, for those seeking a more private setting, the rooftop Sky Terrace offers a stunning and secluded option. Click here to learn more about hosting your wedding at this beautiful property.
